Prescot Area Board Allocation
Higherside Boxing packs a punch thanks to Prescot Area Board funding.
Higherside Boxing proved they packed a punch after scooping 1 gold and 2 silver medals. Prescot Area Board paid for the boxing club to compete in London’s Alexandra Palace in a prestigious amateur tournament and they showed their counterparts how to box clever. The three boxers were Sam Maxwell, Marc Pye and Matthew Major, and were accompanied by three volunteer coaches. Not only does boxing keep the boys and girls who attend fit, but the club regularly engages with large numbers of young people from the area and helps reduce anti-social behaviour.
St Luke’s Tree-rific trip!
St Luke’s Primary School made a special trip to Cornwall to visit the world famous Eden project.
KHT’s Prescot Area Board gave the school the opportunity to learn more about the Rainforests after donating £1,500 towards their trip.
This experience really helped the children see the amazing sights at the centre and learn all about the dangers of destroying the rainforest as well as becoming more aware of their own local environment.
All agreed that the trip really was tree-rific!
