New Chair and Chief Executive take up posts

It was a week of major change for KHT last week, with a new Chief Executive and Chair both taking up their new roles.

After twenty years as Director of Housing for Knowsley Council and later Chief Executive of KHT, John McHale has taken early retirement. KHT’s new Chief Executive is Bob Taylor, who was previously Deputy Chief Executive. Bob commented; “John will be a hard act to follow and I really appreciate the support he has given me in the time that we have worked together. I am excited by the opportunity of leading KHT and ambitious for its future. I look forward to working alongside the Board, the Trust’s employees and customers in making KHT an extremely successful organisation that provides excellent services and that people are proud to work for.”

At KHT’s third AGM last week, Janet Hale formally stood down as Chair of the Trust. She will however, remain a Board member. At the meeting itself, Jayne Aston was appointed as her successor. Whilst Jayne will undoubtedly bring her own ideas and way of doing things to the post, the fact that she has been a Board member since the Trust began and previously been Vice Chair will ensure that there is a smooth transition. Robin McGrath has been appointed as Vice Chair.
