Board Member Selection Procedure and Protocol

Tenant Company Members are appointed to hold office for a fixed term of three years, after which they are eligible for re-appointment. The maximum number of consecutive terms they can serve is three. In the event of resignation or following the end of a final term of office of a Tenant Member, all Area Boards will be informed about the nomination process and of the skill requirements identified by the Main Board for potential successors. Area Board members will be required to nominate and second tenant representatives from the Area Board. Nominees will be interviewed by a panel of main board members, with the successful candidate invited to join the next meeting of the Main Board.

Council Company Members are appointed by nominations from Knowsley MBC, which is entitled to appoint four members. Council members can serve up to three terms ( nine years in total ) after which they are not eligible for re-appointment until a one year period has elapsed. The Council can remove any or all of the Council Company members at anytime.

Independent Company Members are appointed through a transparent process and are neither tenant's nor associated. Independent Company Members are to hold office for a fixed period of three years from the date of admission. The Board may extend the term for a further three years, with the maximum number of terms that may be served being three.
