Gender Equality Scheme
Welcome to Knowsley Housing Trust’s (KHT’s) first
Gender Equality Scheme.
The Equality Act 2006 placed a duty on all public authorities to
produce a Gender Equality Scheme. Although Housing Assocations
including KHT weren’t directly affected by the Act the
Housing Corporation as a public body was. The Housing Corporation
passed on this duty and required all Housing Associations to
produce their own schemes by April 2008.
The aim of our scheme is to;
• Eliminate unlawful discrimination and harassment.
• Promote equality of opportunity between men and women.
The scheme includes a three year action plan which will be
regularly monitored the reviewed.
