KHT gets 'green light' from regulator

Knowsley Housing Trust has retained its full set of green traffic lights from Government agency the Housing Corporation, following an assessment completed this month. The Housing Corporation is the Government's funder and regulator of housing associations in England.

Every housing association owning or managing more than 1000 homes has its performance assessed by the Housing Corporation against four key criteria, Governance, Management, Financial Viability and Development. A "traffic light" rating of Red, Amber or Green is given against each area, with Green as the top rating. Four Green lights demonstrates that the association has met or exceeded the required standard across all the categories which are assessed.

John Carleton, The Housing Corporation's Director for the North, said: "We are very pleased to announce that Knowsley Housing Trust has retained all four green lights in its latest Housing Corporation Assessment. This demonstrates that they have successfully met or exceeded the standards set across all four key performance areas needed to ensure the quality of the services they offer to the people of Knowsley."

Knowsley Housing Trust's Chief Executive Bob Taylor said: "Following our recent inspection by the Audit Commission, we are delighted to receive further confirmation that KHT is performing well, providing good services and delivering value for money for our customers. By continuing to challenge ourselves to set and achieve the highest standards of performance, our aim is to become one the best performing housing associations in the UK."
