KHT Smoke Free
On 1st July 2007 it becomes law in England that buildings open
to the public, workplaces and work vehicles are smoke-free.
It will be an offence to smoke tobacco or any other substance, or
simply to have for instance a lit cigarette in any smoke-free
place. Local Authority Officers will be empowered to serve
“on the spot” fixed penalty notices of £50 or on
summary conviction, courts can fine you £200.
KHT are working towards having a new smoke-free policy in place for
1st July, we will keep you informed.
As private dwellings won’t be covered by the smoke-free law,
KHT will be asking customers to help protect our employees by
taking the simple steps of not smoking during the visit and
ventilating the room.
