KHT goes smoke free
From 1st July 2007, it was against the law to smoke in virtually
all enclosed public spaces and workplaces. The regulations do not
normally apply within your own home, but smoking will not be
permitted in areas shared with other people, such as common rooms,
corridors and stairwells.
Knowsley Housing Trust has a responsibility to ensure that the
parts of its premises that are covered by the regulations went
smoke free from 1st July 2007.
SMOKING WILL NOT BE PERMITTED IN:
- Stairwells and corridors shared with other tenants, such as in blocks of flats
- Shared lifts
- Common rooms in sheltered accomodation
- Common rooms in student accomodation (where rooms are let individually)
- Any other enclosed area shared with other tenants or members of the public
KHT also has a responsibility to protect the health and
wellbeing of staff at work. Our staff will not smoke in any of our
buildings, or when in your home. If we visit you at home, we will
ask you not to smoke in the room where the meeting is due to take
place for 30 minutes before, or during the visit.
