KHT Community Day Attracts Bumper Crowds
Nearly 4,000 people came along to the KHT Community Day on
Thursday 6th August, which has now become one of the biggest
community events held in the North West.
The day was organised by Knowsley Housing Trust for its customers
and residents from across Knowsley, who took advantage of a
glorious day’s weather to show that community spirit is very
much alive and well in the area.
Throughout the afternoon, there was entertainment and activities
for people of all ages. Host for the day was Radio City presenter
Simon Greening, who introduced a series of singers and dancers from
local communities who have all recently benefitted from KHT’s
Area Board funding. With a climbing wall, football competitions,
farmyard, a magician, face painting and many other activities, the
day was a perfect opportunity for parents to keep their children
occupied and entertained over the summer holidays.
There was also a chance to get information and advice from KHT and
other agencies about a whole range of subjects ranging from health,
energy efficiency, accessing jobs and training opportunities and
making your money go further.
KHT’s Chief Executive Bob Taylor said “It’s
fantastic to see so many people here taking part in something
that’s really positive for the area. We’re working with
our tenants and lots of local organisations to support and help
build strong communities in the areas we work in. Events like today
showcase not only the level of talent there is in Knowsley but the
number of people who are doing really positive things that are
helping to improve their community.”
