English Housing Survey - 31st March 2008
KHT are advising you that the Department for Communities and
Local Government (CLG) is launching the English Housing Survey on
the 31st March 2008 and that their interviewers and surveyors will
be working in Knowsley. The survey is being administered by the
Office for National Statistics.
The survey will be the Department’s primary source of
information on people’s changing housing circumstances and
the condition and energy efficiency of the nation's housing.
Fieldwork will run continuously throughout the year and a number of
householders of all tenures in Knowlsey will be invited to take
part.
The survey comprises an initial interview with the householder to
ask about their housing circumstances and views on their home and
neighbourhood. About half those interviewed will then be selected
to go on and receive a physical inspection of the interior and
exterior of the property by a professional surveyor to collect
information on its condition and energy efficiency. The surveyors
will also be seeking access to vacant properties in the sample to
undertake an inspection.
Please note that this is an important source of data to monitor and
develop housing policy and the Council is encouraging residents to
take part. Confidentiality and anonymity are guaranteed to those
taking part.
Alternatively, full details about the survey are on the CLG website
