European Neighbours Day 2010

KHT has been hosting events to celebrate European Neighbours Day at various supported housing schemes around Knowsley, giving residents the chance to get involved and have fun with their neighbours.

There were various events, with lots of residents coming along and having a good time. There were quizzes and games of bingo with prizes up for grabs, outdoor games such as ring-toss and hook-a-duck, buffets, barbeques and even some line-dancing.

Halls were decorated with bunting, displaying flags of Europe and some of the residents even got dressed up themselves; there were nurses, cowgirls and even a clown.

European Neighbours Day was set up in 2003 to enable citizens to get to know their neighbours better and play an active part in their local community. Events take place across Europe and all over the UK
