Insuring your household contents
We strongly advise all customers to take out contents
insurance.
You can do this either by making your own private arrangements or
through a scheme provided by Knowsley Housing Trust in partnership
with The National Housing Federations "My Home" Contents Insurance
Scheme.
Many people believe that their landlord insures personal belongings
against theft, fire, vandalism or burst pipes.
THIS IS NOT THE CASE! Unfortunately many people only find this out
after the damage has been done.

Knowsley Housing Trust has made it easy for you to insure your
belongings via The National Housing Federations "My Home" Contents
Insurance Scheme. Under this scheme it is easy for you to protect
your belongings at a special low cost rate. The premiums for
standard cover are available for download here (see link at
bottom).
Application Forms are available at all Knowsley Housing Trust
offices.

To ensure that you are always covered payments must be kept up to
date. Failure to do so could affect any claim settlement and will
lead to cancellation of your insurance.
Premiums can be paid fortnightly by cash at any Post Office,
monthly by direct debit, or annually by cheque/postal order or via
debit/credit card.
It is important not to undervalue your contents otherwise the
insurer will not pay the full value of your claim.
