KHT sets example for Policing and Crime Minister David Hanson
Frontline staff at KHT have explained to the Policing and Crime
Minister how they have helped tackle anti-social behaviour.
David Hanson MP met staff at the KHT head office to find out how
the trust works side-by-side with police and council officers to
reduce crime.
“We are very proud of what we have achieved and felt it was
important the frontline staff who deal with these issues day-to-day
met the minister,” said Peter Davidson, KHT’s
Operational Director of Housing Services.
Knowsley Council’s ASB Unit, made up of officers from the
Local Authority, Police, Fire and Rescue Service and Victim Support
along with other agencies, is based at KHT’s Lakeview head
office. They work alongside KHT’s Tenancy Enforcement Unit
dealing with serious anti-social behaviour.
Basing the team members in the same headquarters has made tackling
crime more effective and Mr Hanson was visiting to gather evidence
about how the tactic has worked.
“We realised that no single partner holds all the answers and
that by working together we can make a real difference,” said
Peter Davidson.
