KHT help Police arrest 13 after successful operation
13 people have been arrested following the execution of 8
warrants by Merseyside Police this morning (Wednesday 11th
February) at addresses in Reeds Road in Huyton, Knowsley.
The operation was carried out by the Knowsley Anti Social Behaviour
Unit in association with local police officers and partners in the
Knowsley Housing Trust who are committed to reducing crime and
disorder in Knowsley. The raids were launched in response to
community information about drugs and anti-social behaviour and
will be followed up with reassurance leaflets to local
residents.
Highlights of the operation included:
- 1 woman aged 67 was arrested for possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply and also for handling stolen goods
- 3 young people aged 16, 16 and 13 were also arrested for possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply
- 2 men aged 24 and 21and 1 woman aged 21 were arrested for possession of controlled drugs
- 1 man aged 43 was arrested for money laundering offences and approximately £70,000 was seized as a result
- 1 man aged 50 was arrested for abstracting electricity
- 1 man aged 18 was arrested for breach of an Anti-Social Behaviour Order
- 1 man aged 29 and 2 women aged 20 and 27 were arrested for assisting an offender breach his Anti-Social Behaviour Order
- 3 anti-social behaviour closure orders were issued, the first time these have been issued in Merseyside.
In addition to this six children were removed from a property in
Reeds Road. Three of these children have been made subject of
Police Protection Orders and the remaining three have been
voluntarily surrendered into the care of Social Services. Four
adults are in custody on suspicion of child neglect offences.
KHT's Assistant Director of Housing Services Peter Davidson
said:

area demonstrates to the decent people living in the neighbourhood
our determination to make their community a safer place to
live."
Superintendent Mike Edgley said: "This operation is part of
our response to local concerns expressed by the local community who
are playing their part in making their neighbourhoods safer places
in which to live and work. In partnership with our communities we
are sending out a clear message that drug, gun and gang activities
will not be tolerated."

action."
