Train to be a referee
Knowsley has had a proven track record for providing some
fantastic footballers over the years. Steven Gerrard, Phil
Thompson, Peter Reid, Terry McDermott and Dennis Mortimer are just
some of those who have rolled off the production line.
Football is so high profile these days that some referees are
almost as famous as the players themselves. The likes of Graham
Poll, Mike Halsey and Uriah Rennie all started their refereeing
careers in the lower leagues. If you would like to follow in their
footsteps and are interested in being a referee, Liverpool County
FA are looking to train and register new officials.
All you need to do is contact Terry Roscoe, who is a KHT Area Board
member. You can contact him on 0151 292 3523 or email at tjroscoe@merseymail.com
This opportunity is open to both males and females. You never know,
maybe you could be Knowsley’s first famous referee.
