KHT make Stonewall top 100
It has just been announced that Knowsley Housing Trust (KHT) is
the only Housing Association in the North West to be placed in the
National Top 100 employers in Stonewalls Workplace Equality Index.
It is one of only four housing providers to make the top 100
nationally.
Now in its fifth year, the index from campaigning group Stonewall
tracks the impact of workplace culture on gay, lesbian and bisexual
employees. It has quickly become a key indicator of positive
practice in diversity.
The Index is based on a range of key indicators which this year
included the largest ever survey of lesbian and gay employees, with
almost 7,000 participants.
Chief Executive Bob Taylor said:
“This is a tremendous achievement and shows our commitment to
being a supportive and inclusive employer. Being in the top 100 in
the country is something we are extremely proud of and by
continuing to provide our employees with a fair and diverse working
environment we will be on target to achieve our aim which is to be
placed even higher next year.”
Ben Summerskill, Stonewall Chief Executive said:
“This was our most competitive index to date. We received
more entries than ever before from employers who have taken heed of
recent Stonewall research which found that gay people are far more
likely to buy goods or services from companies they know are
gay-friendly. The Index is a powerful tool used by Britain's 1.7
million gay employees and 150,000 gay university students to decide
where to take their talent and skills.”
