Recently, some KHT residents received a letter from United Utilities promoting taking out an insurance policy againt their property.

KHT would like to remind its residents that as a KHT tenant you will only have to take out insurance for your household contents not your property.

We strongly advise all customers to take out contents insurance.

You can do this either by making your own private arrangements or through a scheme provided by Knowsley Housing Trust with My Home Insurance.

Many people believe that their landlord insures personal belongings against theft, fire, vandalism or burst pipes.

THIS IS NOT THE CASE! and unfortunately many people only find this out after the damage has been done.
