KHT's Supported Housing

Resident with Ricky Tom

KHT has in excess of 650 properties throughout the Borough designed to meet the needs of vulnerable people. KHT is committed to supporting people to enjoy living as full and independent lives as possible within the community, through person centred support to meet individual needs.

Our services are largely funded through KMBC Supporting People Programme and as such is assessed for the quality of services it delivers and value for money.

Following a recent assessment by KMBC supporting people, KHT have been awarded a level ‘B’ for it’s services to people in Supported Housing.

The review uses an in depth Quality Assessment Framework (QAF) to see how a service is performing and award a grade by asking for views from residents and staff as well as looking at policies and procedures in place and levels of service given to tenants on a daily basis.
This award is excellent recognition of how hard the supported housing team works to ensure it provides a high standard of service to our tenants.

KHT work closely with a wide range of organisations including Knowsley Older Peoples Voice, IKAN, Health & Wellbeing Services, Safeguarding Adults, Community Police and local Schools to enable us to continually develop our range of services and promote communities and meet the ever changing needs and expectations of individuals.

What is Supported Housing?
Supported Housing provides a supportive environment for vulnerable and older people in the community. It allows people to maximise their independence while benefiting also from security and support from a Scheme Manager. Our Schemes consist of flats and bungalows all of which have 24 hour community alarm access.

For those schemes with a community centre a wide range of activities are held on a regular basis

What does the Scheme Manager do?

  • Provides a daytime support service to tenants either via the intercom or personal visits in tenants homes.
  • Monitors the well-being of tenants and links them into other services as necessary
  • Assists with reporting repairs for tenants.
  • Assesses the needs of tenants and agrees a support plan with them.
  • Arranges a wide range of activities in the communal facilities.
  • Carries out regular health and safety checks to equipment.
