Last week KHT took part in delivering its fourth annual Knowsley Crucial Crew event at Huyton barracks, Liverpool Road from 10-14th June. The Safer Communities team and a number of volunteers from our Tenancy Suitability and Income team all participated in this multi-agency event.
The Crucial Crew is a dedicated group who provide children with life skills to help to keep themselves safe. Agencies who took part this year include KHT, Knowsley Council, Merseyside Police, St John Ambulance, North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, North Liverpool, Anfield Boxing Club and Dogs Trust. Working in partnership with young children in Knowsley, the group are committed to promoting their safety.
Up to six presentations from different agencies covering a wide range of topics such as personal safety, road safety, internet safety, travelling safely and knife crime were delivered to children in schools across Knowsley.
KHT delivered an interactive session with pupils, raising awareness so they understood what anti-social behaviour was all about. The interactive session allowed the children to discuss anti-social behaviour examples such as graffiti, gangs and verbal abuse.
A total of 551 pupils from 16 primary schools attended this half day visit to the barracks on Liverpool Road.
